Dr. Otterpohl is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Volunteer Study Club. He has also been a member of the Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and studied advanced dental techniques and theories at the prestigious Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Dr. Otterpohl served on the Brentwood High School Sports Board of Directors. He has been a past board member of the Brentwood Methodist Church Youth Choir's annual fundraiser. He was a founding member of the Down Syndrome of Middle Tennessee "Fall Fiesta" fundraising event. He and his wife, Dru, were also founding members of The Helmerdinger Foundation.
Life & Hobbies
Dr. Otterpohl grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a major in biology, and then obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He established and maintained a private practice in Nashville, Tennessee, where he spent 30+ years treating his patients' needs and concerns.
Joe and Dru live in Franklin, Tennessee, and have two grown daughters: Laura, who lives overseas with her husband and four children, and Amy, a dentist for a private practice in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and two children.
